AP3B2-HOMER2 Fusion FISH Probe
The AP3B2-HOMER2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AP3B2 and HOMER2 genes. The fusion of the AP3B2 and HOMER2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

AP3B2 Gene Summary
Adaptor protein complex 3 (AP-3 complex) is a heterotrimeric protein complex involved in the formation of clathrin-coated synaptic vesicles. The protein encoded by this gene represents the beta subunit of the neuron-specific AP-3 complex and was first identified as the target antigen in human paraneoplastic neurologic disorders. The encoded subunit binds clathrin and is phosphorylated by a casein kinase-like protein, which mediates synaptic vesicle coat assembly. Defects in this gene are a cause of early-onset epileptic encephalopathy. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2017]
Gene Name: Adaptor Related Protein Complex 3 Beta 2 Subunit
Chromosome: CHR15: 83328032 -83378635
Locus: 15q25.2
HOMER2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the homer family of dendritic proteins. Members of this family regulate group 1 metabotrophic glutamate receptor function. The encoded protein is a postsynaptic density scaffolding protein. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Two related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosome 14. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]
Gene Name: Homer Scaffolding Protein 2
