AP2A2-TOLLIP Fusion FISH Probe
The AP2A2-TOLLIP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AP2A2 and TOLLIP genes. The fusion of the AP2A2 and TOLLIP genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

AP2A2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the AP-2 adaptor protein complex, which is involved in linking lipid and protein membrane components with the clathrin lattice. This interaction supports the formation of clathrin-coated vesicles, and the encoded subunit aids in the process by binding polyphosphoinositide-containing lipids in the cell membrane. Gene Name: Adaptor Related Protein Complex 2 Alpha 2 Subunit
Chromosome: CHR11: 925808 -1012245
Locus: 11p15.5
TOLLIP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a ubiquitin-binding protein that interacts with several Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling cascade components. The encoded protein regulates inflammatory signaling and is involved in interleukin-1 receptor trafficking and in the turnover of IL1R-associated kinase. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
