ANO6-PEBP4 Fusion FISH Probe
The ANO6-PEBP4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ANO6 and PEBP4 genes. The fusion of the ANO6 and PEBP4 genes has been associated with Colon Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PEBP4 Gene Summary
The phosphatidylethanolamine (PE)-binding proteins, including PEBP4, are an evolutionarily conserved family of proteins with pivotal biologic functions, such as lipid binding and inhibition of serine proteases (Wang et al., 2004 [PubMed 15302887]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: Phosphatidylethanolamine Binding Protein 4
Chromosome: CHR8: 22570764 -22785421
Locus: 8p21.3
ANO6 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a multi-pass transmembrane protein that belongs to the anoctamin family. This protein is an essential component for the calcium-dependent exposure of phosphatidylserine on the cell surface. The scrambling of phospholipid occurs in various biological systems, such as when blood platelets are activated, they expose phosphatidylserine to trigger the clotting system. Mutations in this gene are associated with Scott syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Gene Name: Anoctamin 6
Chromosome: CHR12: 45609769 -45834187
Locus: 12q12
