ALPK1-NAA15 Fusion FISH Probe
The ALPK1-NAA15 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ALPK1 and NAA15 genes. The fusion of the ALPK1 and NAA15 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

NAA15 Gene Summary
N-alpha-acetylation is among the most common post-translational protein modifications in eukaryotic cells. This process involves the transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-coenzyme A to the alpha-amino group on a nascent polypeptide and is essential for normal cell function. This gene encodes the auxillary subunit of the N-terminal acetyltransferase A (NatA) complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Gene Name: N(alpha)-acetyltransferase 15, NatA Auxiliary Subunit
Chromosome: CHR4: 140222675 -140311935
Locus: 4q31.1
ALPK1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an alpha kinase. Mice which were homozygous for disrupted copies of this gene exhibited coordination defects (PMID: 21208416). Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]
Gene Name: Alpha Kinase 1
Chromosome: CHR4: 113218498 -113363764
Locus: 4q25
