AKT3-ADSS Fusion FISH Probe
The AKT3-ADSS Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AKT3 and ADSS genes. The fusion of the AKT3 and ADSS genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ADSS Gene Summary
This gene encodes the enzyme adenylosuccinate synthetase which catalyzes the first committed step in the conversion of inosine monophosphate to adenosine monophosphate. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 17.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
Gene Name: Adenylosuccinate Synthase
Chromosome: CHR1: 244571793 -244615436
Locus: 1q44
AKT3 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the AKT, also called PKB, serine/threonine protein kinase family. AKT kinases are known to be regulators of cell signaling in response to insulin and growth factors. They are involved in a wide variety of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, tumorigenesis, as well as glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake. This kinase has been shown to be stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). Alternatively splice transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: AKT Serine/threonine Kinase 3
Chromosome: CHR1: 243651534 -244006584
Locus: 1q43-q44
