AHR-CUL4B Fusion FISH Probe
The AHR-CUL4B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AHR and CUL4B genes. The fusion of the AHR and CUL4B genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

AHR Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a ligand-activated helix-loop-helix transcription factor involved in the regulation of biological responses to planar aromatic hydrocarbons. This receptor has been shown to regulate xenobiotic-metabolizing enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Before ligand binding, the encoded protein is sequestered in the cytoplasm; upon ligand binding, this protein moves to the nucleus and stimulates transcription of target genes. Gene Name: Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor
Chromosome: CHR7: 17338275 -17385775
Locus: 7p21.1
CUL4B Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the cullin family. The encoded protein forms a complex that functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and catalyzes the polyubiquitination of specific protein substrates in the cell. The protein interacts with a ring finger protein, and is required for the proteolysis of several regulators of DNA replication including chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1 and cyclin E. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Cullin 4B
Chromosome: CHRX: 119658445 -119709684
Locus: Xq24
