AGAP3-GIMAP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The AGAP3-GIMAP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AGAP3 and GIMAP1 genes. The fusion of the AGAP3 and GIMAP1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

AGAP3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an essential component of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor signaling complex which mediates long-term potentiation in synapses by linking activation of NMDA receptor to alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) receptor trafficking. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal GTPase-like domain, a pleckstrin homology domain, an ArfGAP domain and several C-terminal ankryn repeat domains. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017]
Gene Name: ArfGAP With GTPase Domain, Ankyrin Repeat And PH Domain 3
Chromosome: CHR7: 150783825 -150841523
Locus: 7q36.1
GIMAP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the GTP-binding superfamily and to the immuno-associated nucleotide (IAN) subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. In humans, the IAN subfamily genes are located in a cluster at 7q36.1. This gene is thought to be involved in the differentiation of T helper (Th) cells of the Th1 lineage, and the related mouse gene has been shown to be critical for the development of mature B and T lymphocytes. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the downstream GIMAP5 (GTPase, IMAP family member 5) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]
Gene Name: GTPase, IMAP Family Member 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 150413644 -150421368
Locus: 7q36.1
