AGAP1-SNX1 Fusion FISH Probe
The AGAP1-SNX1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AGAP1 and SNX1 genes. The fusion of the AGAP1 and SNX1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SNX1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain, and are involved in intracellular trafficking. This endosomal protein regulates the cell-surface expression of epidermal growth factor receptor. This protein also has a role in sorting protease-activated receptor-1 from early endosomes to lysosomes. This protein may form oligomeric complexes with family members. This gene results in three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Sorting Nexin 1
Chromosome: CHR15: 64388082 -64436433
Locus: 15q22.31
AGAP1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of an ADP-ribosylation factor GTPase-activating protein family involved in membrane trafficking and cytoskeleton dynamics. This gene functions as a direct regulator of the adaptor-related protein complex 3 on endosomes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
