ADCY9-RASSF8 Fusion FISH Probe
The ADCY9-RASSF8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ADCY9 and RASSF8 genes. The fusion of the ADCY9 and RASSF8 genes has been associated with Brain Lower Grade Glioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ADCY9 Gene Summary
Adenylate cyclase is a membrane bound enzyme that catalyses the formation of cyclic AMP from ATP. It is regulated by a family of G protein-coupled receptors, protein kinases, and calcium. The type 9 adenylyl cyclase is a widely distributed adenylyl cyclase, and it is stimulated by beta-adrenergic receptor activation but is insensitive to forskolin, calcium, and somatostatin. Gene Name: Adenylate Cyclase 9
Chromosome: CHR16: 4012649 -4166186
Locus: 16p13.3
RASSF8 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Ras-assocation domain family (RASSF) of tumor suppressor proteins. This gene is essential for maintaining adherens junction function in epithelial cells and has a role in epithelial cell migration. It is a lung tumor suppressor gene candidate. A chromosomal translocation t(12;22)(p11.2;q13.3) leading to the fusion of this gene and the FBLN1 gene is found in a complex type of synpolydactyly. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
Gene Name: Ras Association Domain Family Member 8
Chromosome: CHR12: 26111963 -26232825
Locus: 12p12.1
