ADAMTS17-LPAR1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ADAMTS17-LPAR1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ADAMTS17 and LPAR1 genes. The fusion of the ADAMTS17 and LPAR1 genes has been associated with Glioblastoma Multiforme. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LPAR1 Gene Summary
The integral membrane protein encoded by this gene is a lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor from a group known as EDG receptors. These receptors are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. Utilized by LPA for cell signaling, EDG receptors mediate diverse biologic functions, including proliferation, platelet aggregation, smooth muscle contraction, inhibition of neuroblastoma cell differentiation, chemotaxis, and tumor cell invasion. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Lysophosphatidic Acid Receptor 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 113636053 -113800365
Locus: 9q31.3
ADAMTS17 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. ADAMTS family members share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, a metalloproteinase domain, a disintegrin-like domain, and a thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protein, which may promote breast cancer cell growth and survival. Mutations in this gene are associated with a Weill-Marchesani-like syndrome, which is characterized by lenticular myopia, ectopia lentis, glaucoma, spherophakia, and short stature.
