ADAM2-MTMR2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ADAM2-MTMR2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ADAM2 and MTMR2 genes. The fusion of the ADAM2 and MTMR2 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ADAM2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The encoded protein is a subunit of an integral sperm membrane glycoprotein called fertilin, which plays an important role in sperm-egg interactions. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
Gene Name: ADAM Metallopeptidase Domain 2
Chromosome: CHR8: 39601254 -39695779
Locus: 8p11.22
MTMR2 Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the myotubularin family of phosphoinositide lipid phosphatases. The encoded protein possesses phosphatase activity towards phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate and phosphatidylinositol-3,5-bisphosphate. Mutations in this gene are a cause of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 4B, an autosomal recessive demyelinating neuropathy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Myotubularin Related Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR11: 95566043 -95657371
Locus: 11q21
