ACPP-OGT Fusion FISH Probe
The ACPP-OGT Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ACPP and OGT genes. The fusion of the ACPP and OGT genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ACPP Gene Summary
This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate. It is synthesized under androgen regulation and is secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostate gland. An alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding a longer isoform has been found for this gene. This isoform contains a transmembrane domain and is localized in the plasma membrane-endosomal-lysosomal pathway. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
Gene Name: Acid Phosphatase, Prostate
Chromosome: CHR3: 132036210 -132087146
Locus: 3q22.1
OGT Gene Summary
This gene encodes a glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of a single N-acetylglucosamine in O-glycosidic linkage to serine or threonine residues. Since both phosphorylation and glycosylation compete for similar serine or threonine residues, the two processes may compete for sites, or they may alter the substrate specificity of nearby sites by steric or electrostatic effects. The protein contains multiple tetratricopeptide repeats that are required for optimal recognition of substrates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) Transferase
Chromosome: CHRX: 70752911 -70795747
Locus: Xq13.1
