ACP6-PIAS3 Fusion FISH Probe
The ACP6-PIAS3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ACP6 and PIAS3 genes. The fusion of the ACP6 and PIAS3 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

PIAS3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the PIAS [protein inhibitor of activated STAT (signal transducer and activator of transcription)] family of transcriptional modulators. The protein functions as a SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier)-E3 ligase which catalyzes the covalent attachment of a SUMO protein to specific target substrates. It directly binds to several transcription factors and either blocks or enhances their activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been identified, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Protein Inhibitor Of Activated STAT 3
Chromosome: CHR1: 145575987 -145586546
Locus: 1q21.1
ACP6 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the histidine acid phosphatase protein family. The encoded protein hydrolyzes lysophosphatidic acid, which is involved in G protein-coupled receptor signaling, lipid raft modulation, and in balancing lipid composition within the cell. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]
Gene Name: Acid Phosphatase 6, Lysophosphatidic
Chromosome: CHR1: 147119167 -147142634
Locus: 1q21.2
