ACOT7-FUCA1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ACOT7-FUCA1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ACOT7 and FUCA1 genes. The fusion of the ACOT7 and FUCA1 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

FUCA1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal enzyme involved in the degradation of fucose-containing glycoproteins and glycolipids. Mutations in this gene are associated with fucosidosis (FUCA1D), which is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disease. A pseudogene of this locus is present on chr 2.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: Alpha-L-fucosidase 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 24171571 -24194859
Locus: 1p36.11
ACOT7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the acyl coenzyme family. The encoded protein hydrolyzes the CoA thioester of palmitoyl-CoA and other long-chain fatty acids. Decreased expression of this gene may be associated with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms with different subcellular locations have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Acyl-CoA Thioesterase 7
Chromosome: CHR1: 6324331 -6453826
Locus: 1p36.31
