AAK1-LHX2 Fusion FISH Probe
The AAK1-LHX2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the AAK1 and LHX2 genes. The fusion of the AAK1 and LHX2 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

LHX2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein belonging to a large protein family, members of which carry the LIM domain, a unique cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein may function as a transcriptional regulator. The protein can recapitulate or rescue phenotypes in Drosophila caused by a related protein, suggesting conservation of function during evolution. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: LIM Homeobox 2
Chromosome: CHR9: 126773888 -126795442
Locus: 9q33.3
AAK1 Gene Summary
Adaptor-related protein complex 2 (AP-2 complexes) functions during receptor-mediated endocytosis to trigger clathrin assembly, interact with membrane-bound receptors, and recruit encodytic accessory factors. This gene encodes a member of the SNF1 subfamily of Ser/Thr protein kinases. The protein interacts with and phosphorylates a subunit of the AP-2 complex, which promotes binding of AP-2 to sorting signals found in membrane-bound receptors and subsequent receptor endocytosis. Its kinase activity is stimulated by clathrin. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: AP2 Associated Kinase 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 69685126 -69870977
Locus: 2p13.3
