Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia FISH Probes

Inv(16)(p13q22) is the genetic hallmark of acute myelomonocytic leukemia, also known as M4Eo, a rare AML subtype. The inversion fuses most of the 5′ coding region of CBFβ with the 3′ portion of MYH11, resulting in the production of the chimeric protein CBFβ-MYH11 in leukemic cells.
