SLC38A8 FISH Probe
The SLC38A8 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the SLC38A8 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a putative sodium-dependent amino-acid/proton antiporter. The protein has eleven transmembrane domains, an extracellular N-terminus and an intracellular C-terminal tail. The protein is a member of the SLC38 sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter family of proteins. Mutations in this gene result in foveal hypoplasia with or without optic nerve misrouting and/or anterior segment dysgenesis. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]
