MYO16 FISH Probe
The MYO16 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the MYO16 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes an unconventional myosin protein. The encoded protein has been proposed to act as a serine/threonine phosphatase-1 targeting or regulatory subunit. Studies in a rat cell line suggest that this protein may regulate cell cycle progression. A variant within this gene may be associated with susceptibility to schizophrenia and elevated expression of this gene has been observed in the frontal cortex of human schizophrenia patients.
