EFHD1 FISH Probe
The EFHD1 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the EFHD1 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the EF-hand super family of calcium binding proteins, which are involved in a variety of cellular processes including mitosis, synaptic transmission, and cytoskeletal rearrangement. The protein encoded by this gene is composed of an N-terminal disordered region, proline-rich elements, two EF-hands, and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain. This protein has been shown to associate with the mitochondrial inner membrane, and in HeLa cells, acts as a novel mitochondrial calcium ion sensor for mitochondrial flash activation.
