DPH1 FISH Probe
The DPH1 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the DPH1 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of diphthamide, a modified histidine found only in elongation factor-2 (EEF2). Diphthamide residues in EEF2 are targeted for ADP-ribosylation by diphtheria toxin and Pseudomonas exotoxin A. Defects in this gene have been associated with both ovarian cancer and autosomal recessive intellectual disability with short stature, craniofacial, and ectodermal anomalies.
