TP53 FISH Probe
Our TP53 FISH probe is designed to detect TP53 amplifications and deletions. The probe comes labeled in orange, but can be customized to meet your needs.
Gene Background: The tumor protein 53 gene encodes a transcription factor which regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, and functions as a tumor suppressor by activating the expression of genes that inhibit cell growth.1 TP53 is the most frequently mutated gene in human cancer; it's abnormally expressed in 50% of cancer patients.2 TP53 mutations have been detected in 16% of acute lymphocytic leukemias, 12% of acute myeloid leukemias, 7% of chronic lymphocytic leukemias, 6% of myelodyplastic syndromes, and are also very common in a variety of solid tumors.2
